At a glance

  • Buttondown is the email service. Brevo holds earlier test records only.
  • The form sends the address and consent straight to Buttondown.
  • A confirmation email comes first. Updates need the confirmation link.
  • Every update includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Open and click measurement is switched off.
  • Emailing the editor is a personal message, not a subscription.

How signup works

The signup form asks for an email address and a separate tick to agree to updates. Both go directly from the browser to Buttondown. Buttondown also receives technical details such as the IP address to deliver and secure its service. Open and click measurement is switched off in its settings.

Confirming a subscription

Submitting the form continues on Buttondown, which may ask for a quick check before sending an email asking for confirmation. Updates start only after the link in that email is used. If no email arrives within an hour, the spam or promotions folder is the first place to check. The editor can also be emailed at hello@deafmetrix.com.

Leaving the list

Every update includes an unsubscribe link. Using it stops further updates to that address. An email to hello@deafmetrix.com works too.

What happens to the address

The address is sent directly to Buttondown and used only for Deaf Truth Unfiltered updates. This site keeps no copy and no subscriber list. Buttondown handles confirmation and protection against misuse of the form. Full details are in the privacy notice.
